Although Jon Favreau had been knocking around Hollywood for a few years, he really jitterbugged into the public eye in 's indie sleeper hit Swingers. Favreau wrote, co-produced and starred in the stylish, lighthearted ensemble piece, which followed a group of young, underemployed actors on the make in L. Swingers put the actor-screenwriter's career and that of his longtime buddy Vince Vaughn on the Hollywood fast track, one leg of which is a co-starring role in Very Bad Things opposite this year's hottest actress, Cameron Diaz. The new film was showcased during the Toronto Film Festival in September with writer-director Peter Berg, Favreau, Diaz and the rest of the principal cast in attendance. Screened for a star-studded audience that included Mr. Interviewed the morning after, Favreau was still running on adrenaline.
