The Wendat Huron are an Aboriginal people whose descendants live in four communities across North America — in Quebec, Michigan, Kansas and Oklahoma — and separately across the continent. Their ancestors of the 17 th century became well-known in Europe because of the writings of Jesuit missionaries who lived with them. Obviously, a Catholic order of men sworn to celibacy might not seem the best source for talking about the sex life of an entire people, but the Jesuit drive for encyclopedic knowledge about their mission charges has made them a good source on this topic, nonetheless. The Wendat formed a loose confederacy of four smaller nations or tribes: the Bear, Cord, Rock and Deer. They were a horticultural people, growing corn, beans and squash, which probably made up over two-thirds of their diet, the rest comprising fish, fruit and meat, fundamentally in that order.

(Nudity warning) Indigenous people of the Americas
By Daily Mail Reporter. These are the remarkable portraits of Native Americans before the influence of Western society tainted their tribes. A century ago, photographer and ethnologist Edward S. Curtis embarked on a vast study of Native American peoples throughout the West. Curtis, who worked mainly in Seattle, spent time with 80 different tribes over two decades and compiled more than 40, photographs. Although Curtis was praised for his skill as a photographer, according to The Atlantic , the posed nature of the shots are often attacked by critics who say the images play up to stereotypes of Native American cultures.

History of nudity
The history of nudity involves social attitudes to nudity in different cultures in history. It is not known when humans began wearing clothes, although there is some archaeological evidence to indicate that clothing may have become commonplace in human society around 72, years ago. Anthropologists believe that animal skins and vegetation were adapted into coverings as protection from cold, heat and rain, especially as humans migrated to new climates; alternatively, covering may have been invented first for other purposes, such as magic, decoration, cult, or prestige, and later found to be practical as well.

The visionary behind Native Pop organizes another indigenous art collective and traveling showcase, Native American Body of Art, inspiring nude art and potentially a native renaissance. Learned, who organized the Native Pop collective, likewise inspired the Native American Body of Art movement and traveling exhibit. Learned anticipates a good crowd, if the first Native Pop event, held in July , is any indication of fanfare.
